Bishop Eric R. Figueroa, Sr. a native of Brooklyn, New
York holds doctorates in Divinity and Theology. In 1983, Bishop Figueroa
founded New Life Tabernacle, Inc. a ministry that possesses a unique
inclusionery character forging inter-denominational
relationships and eradicating spiritual stereotypes in an effort to advance
the Kingdom of God. Bishop Figueroa's skillful presentation of the gospel
along with his sense of civic and community duty has brought him to the
attention and demand of many distinguished religious and political leaders,
both nationally and internationally.
Bishop Figueroa is an outstanding preacher, teacher and gospel recording
artist. The Godfather, Rev. Timothy Wright presented Bishop Eric R. Figueroa
and the New Life Tabernacle 100 voice mass Choir in their first live
recording entitled "He's A Rock" on Savoy records.
New Life Tabernacle prides itself in being a multi-purpose service center,
spiritually nurturing the souls of mankind as well as meeting their earthly
needs. Bishop Figueroa is a philanthropic leader who cares for all. In 1998,
he founded the Family Life Development Center, Inc. - a non profit community
development agency designed to provide an array of services that will
transform the lives of people as well as their neighborhood i.e., (food and
clothing, drug rehabilitation, youth and family initiatives, Life Skills
Teaching curriculum, counseling-individual, group, family, marriage, college
reparatory and scholarship fund, and senior citizen programs.)
Bishop Figueroa is married to Evangelist Doreen Figueroa. They are blessed with three marvelously gifted and talented children: Timiney, Anaysha and Eric Jr. They are also blessed with two grandsons: Quincy and Miles.
